I recently made a chocolate layer cake for friend-of-the-blog Tammie Teclemariam’s birthday. Trying to channel the Texas sheet cake with crème fraîche icing from Yellow Rose (the cake I had at my wedding), I mashed up Yossy Arefi’s easy chocolate cake with Charlotte Rutledge’s chocolate sour cream icing from King Arthur.
